First we listen and understand all the major highlights as to what we want to achieve in whatever the size of project we are undertaking. Regardless of the scope, whether a single chair or entire commercial floor, all aspects need to be understood and digested. All parties need to align to make sure the proper outcome is produced.
After we have understood and accepted all facets to a project, we are able to create a game plan as to how we are going to achieve the desired outcome. Whether it involves ordering textiles or leather, or devising a strategic plan, an itemized procedure should be established, including lead times.
From our outline, we are able to create actionable items that either the E+W team, or the client, or both, need to fulfill in order to produce a seamless end-result. If weekly meetings are needed, they are created. If parts need to be ordered, they are purchased. If the trash needs to be taken out...
E+W will help in the fun process of selecting hardwoods, laminates, textiles, leather, etc. We have relationships throughout the residential and commercial world and have been assisting both end-users and designers alike in different ideas and applications for years. All of this is transparent in our process and the more collaboration the better.
Really this aspect is in all stages of our process, but why do we stress the need for this? Without listening to our clients and collaborators, we would certainly not be able to provide the services we are known for.
It can be as simple as this, but for all transparency let's sign-off on all aspects to our project. When submitting quotes and estimates, it is good to walk through every line item and make sure all parties are aware of what they are preparing to create.
